("Have you known the
"Great White Silence")

Have you known the "Great White Silence", not a snow-gemmed twig a quiver? Mushed your huskies up the river? Then harken to the wild it's calling you. (Source: "Call of the Wild" - Robert Service)

Have you ever wondered about the wild in winter ... the words of Robert Service stirs up images of cool, clean, crisp snow and adventure in river valleys and along forested trails. Have you ever wondered about how you could enjoy Alberta's winter wonderland with safety and comfort?

Experience the joy and wonderment of winter by joining Klondike Ventures for Dog Sledding, and backcountry experiences.

(Rates)

"THE HOMESTEADER" -- 1 Day (See Map)

Presently our dog yard has 22 dogs for your use.  We offer a “learn to mush” experience, where 2 of you run your own sled with 5 or 6 dogs depending on the snow conditions.  The progressions are completely at your own pace according to your comfort level.  We begin on a large tracked field, working up to flat trails and then trails with some more challenges (not all get to this point). We supply a hot BBQ lunch around a roaring fire overlooking the river and drinks throughout the day as needed.

$540 plus GST for up to 4 people ( +GST)

"THE ALBERTAN" --  Weekend (See Map)

You will spend a weekend of cross country skiing and skijoring on endless trails throughout the North Saskatchewan River valley. All meals are supplied including a steak and wine candlelight dinner. Friday evening to late Sunday afternoon. Transportation is provided to and from Rocky Mountain House with secured parking for your vehicle.
